Spring Break

Bald Head Island 2019 was a raging success!  We are so lucky to be able to vacation with such great friends in such a unique and beautiful place.  We laughed and joked and played all week long.  The kids were all kind and considerate of each other which made the trip all that more relaxing.  I think what we like most about Bald Head is that it is so tranquil because it isn't touristy and it isn't commercial.  We also really enjoyed that we didn't have to adhere to a schedule of events or places to be or places to go.  It was just nice to be together instead of trying to fit in a schedule of excursions.  We watched the dolphins every morning from the beach and the kids were in the water everyday.  The biggest concern of the week was sunscreen application!

On the way back through, we stopped for a wonderful Easter in Corning complete with baby chicks and an Easter egg hunt!

Some favorite memories:

The kids loved "skipping" school on the Friday we left
Digging very large holes in the sand
golf cart rides
group dinners (14 of us!)
kids group text string
skim boarding and wave jumping
football games on the beach
Luke's mini skateboard
adult card games
adult dinner out at BHI club
Coco singing with headphones on in the car
Luke's sand dollar (RIP)

Signs of spring

Spring - We're winding down the swimming competition season and gearing up for lacrosse season.  Bikes are coming out of the basement and mud is coming into the house.  We have daylight after school and thoughts of landscaping on the mind.

GVSL championships:  Luke and Adrienne's team won!  Adrienne ended up with tons of awards.  Luke made the finals in the 100 breast.

St. Patrick's Day:  these young descendants are in fact, somewhat Irish.

 Our newest injury creator:

Beginnings of lacrosse season:  I'll be spending 90% of my time from now until August on lacrosse...either shuttling to and fro or just being the great spectator that I am!
